Daryl Carter, MS

Mr. Daryl Carter completed his Bachelor of Science with a concentration in Sociology and Social Work from Eastern Mennonite University in 2008. His passion for helping people alleviate their suffering and understanding their experiences lead him to obtain his Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2013. He continued his studies and went on to complete a Post-Master’s Certificate in Professional Counseling in 2014.

Mr. Carter has experience working with adolescent, teen, and adult populations in the residential, intensive in-home, and outpatient settings. He has worked with individuals who have experienced substance abuse/use disorders, childhood trauma, post-traumatic stress disorders, co-occurring disorders, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, and men’s’ issues.

Mr. Carter utilizes an integrative approach which allows him to employ a host of different modalities to assist his clients in meeting their goals. He implements strategies from Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Person-Centered therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Solution-Focused therapy often in his practice. He focuses on rapport building in his practice and creating a safe space for his clients to express their feelings, emotions, and fears. He is committed to helping his clients achieve health and wellness not just for their mental health, rather, for their overall lifestyle.
