LaTroya Martin, MSW


Ms. LaTroya S. Martin completed her Bachelor of Science degree from Virginia State University in 2005. Upon graduating from her undergraduate program, she obtained her Master’s of Social Work in 2017, fromSimmons University (formerly Simmons College).

Ms. Martin has worked in several clinical positions in the inpatient and outpatient settings that have afforded her the opportunity to learn and grow as a social worker.

She has worked with adolescent and adult populations. She has worked with individuals who have experienced childhood trauma, substance abuse/use disorders, anxiety, depression, and life stressors.


Ms. Martin’s focus in providing therapy is to provide a non-judgmental environment for clients to learn and try new skills to help best address issues that led them to seek out therapy. She tailors her interventions to meet the needs of her clients and utilizes a blend of modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy, mindfulness-based therapies, and person-centered therapy.

Ms. Martin believes her clients are the experts of their lives and lived experiences and aims to assist clients in making adaptive change by providing clients the skills to draw on their own strengths. Her goal is to help her clients gain insights, achieve self-efficacy, and empowerment.
