Jeanette Carpenter, MD

Dr. Jeanette Carpenter, MD is the Medical Clinical Care Director here at Dougan and Walden Wellness. She is working collaboratively with our Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNP) to ensure we are providing the highest quality of care to our clients.
Dr. Carpenter is Board Certified in Family Medicine and practices in Virginia. She has been working with patients in the mental health setting and family setting for the past several years. Dr. Carpenter received her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with a minor in Dance from The College of William and Mary. She went on to obtain her Doctor of Medicine degree from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) in 2004. She then went on to complete her residency at VCU’s Chesterfield Family Practice Residency Program, where she served as Chief Resident.

Dr. Carpenter is passionate about the mental health field and recognizes the unique relationship between emotional wellness and physical health. She has a diverse background of experiences that inform her practice. She has experience in several specialties in medicine includingBehavioral and Mental Health, OB/GYN, telemedicine, and administration. Dr. Carpenter is also an Assistant Clinical Professor at VCU/MCV School of Medicine and has earned many outstanding teaching awards.
