Nicole Pernod, PsyD
Licensed Clinical Psychologist
Dr. Pernod is a bilingual Licensed Clinical Psychologist with extensive experience both in the U.S. and internationally. She earned her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.) from Adler University in Chicago, IL, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Fordham University in New York, NY. Before relocating to Virginia in 2015, Dr. Pernod practiced in New York, Mexico, and Chicago, bringing a diverse and multicultural perspective to her clinical work.

Throughout her career, Dr. Pernod has dedicated herself to serving underprivileged and underserved populations. She brings diverse clinical experience across private practice, integrated healthcare systems, medical and psychiatric hospitals, and outpatient community settings. Dr. Pernod provides therapeutic support to a wide range of clients dealing with mood and anxiety disorders, addiction, grief, medical challenges, and trauma. She works with children (age 6 and up), adolescents, adults, and couples. With a particular focus on perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, she has completed specialized training through the Postpartum Stress Center.

Dr. Pernod’s goal is to create a safe, non-judgmental environment where clients feel heard and empowered throughout their healing journey. She employs an integrative therapeutic approach, drawing from a range of tools such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness-based stress reduction as needed. By thoughtfully blending these approaches, she remains committed to guiding individuals through the complexities of their personal journeys, helping them build resilience, rediscover inner strengths, and achieve lasting, meaningful positive change.
